Lost in Koh Mak

When it comes to the beach destinations in the Eastern part of Thailand, I always feel unsure.. One of the reasons might lie in my past experiences at Koh Chang, which was always rainy, and Koh Kood, which was rainy all-day, all-night. It was chill enough, but when it comes to the beaches, sunshine is kinda expected (and I found out that its my fault to go there in the wrong season)

After putting it off for several times, I finally ended up in Koh Mak, a little island near Koh Kood, Trad province, and Koh Mak in summer is just perfect: crystal clear water, blue sky, and serenity. My definitions of perfection.

Compared to Koh Chang and Koh Kood, Koh Mak is quite small, so small that it takes just half an hour to ride a bike through all beaches. Since it’s quite popular for foreigners who long for tranquility, the island is dotted with international restaurants. Koh Mak is now promoted as a low-carbon destination, and to tell the truth, it has a lot of potentials to be so.

PS. Check and recheck the boat schedules. They can be put off without notice.
PS2. Coconut ice-cream at Koh Mak Seafood is sooooo good (we ended up there two times lol)
PS3. Banana Sunset is really a place for chillaxing during sunset. Sublime.
