It can be said that 2017 was the “Doha” year for me. Thanks to my job, I was lucky enough to join two trips with Qatar Airways, and both trips we had a stopover in Doha, the Qatari capital, and I was so amazed by how they did it. In the middle of nowhere in the desert, the Middle Eastern powerhouse was born.
Compared to other Middle Eastern cities, Doha is quite new. Its Souq Wagif looks new, but as charming as original souqs can be (and you can see their falcon hospital there). What I love more is the city’s art scene, which seems to be growing day by day thanks to the ruler’s preference in contemporary art. With the landscape decorated with the works of I.M.Pei and Jean Nouvel, the city’s future seem to shine bright. Another perk? They are offering free 24-hour transit visa, so that means you can drop by to visit a museum or two. Sounds good?
