Homemade Thai food at Kinyoudai at Samsen

For Thais, food is everything.

We take food very seriously and what makes me feel lucky to be a Thai is that we have great food everywhere. So apart from destination, it is a kind of the mission of Taste of Wander to bring you great eating spots. And here it is! And there will be more. Promise.

Today, let me take you to this restaurant called Kinyoudai at Samsen which happens to be very close to our place. I have heard about this restaurant in Chiang Mai for quite a while, and when its franchise landed in Bangkok, I went there to have a try and didn’t disappoint.

Essentially, Kinyoudai at Samsen (กินอยู่ได้ แอท สามเสน) presents authentic Thai food with family-styled recipes. So it’s a mixture of everything. There are dishes from central Thailand, along with specialties from the North, South and Isan. The food is served in a casual ambiance just like you visit your friend’s home for dinner, because the original one in CNX is actually located in a white house.

Apart from the food, the highlight might be a great collection of pricey antique dishes that are used to serve the food. (And they make everything really photogenic). My favorites here are the stir-fried pork belly with chilli (หมูสามชั้นผัดพริกเกลือ) and salt and the spicy pork crackling (น้ำพริกกากหมู). Their homemade Thai flavored ice creams are delicious as well!

Located next to Vichaiyut Hospital, Kinyoudai at Samsem can be reached by car or motorbike from Ari BTS station.
